An outdoor sauna club been approved by planners, despite being set up without initial permission.
Wild Luxury, a campsite at Drove Orchards, in Thornham, asked King’s Lynn and West Norfolk Borough Council for retrospective planning permission for the Hidden Sauna Club – a sauna, outdoor shower, changing room and two cold plunge baths.
Planners agreed retrospective permission for the sauna club which is open every day for up to eight people per session.
The sauna sites within Drove Orchards, which also offers heritage orchards, shops and restaurants.
A statement to planners by Wild Luxury, said: “The aim of The Hidden Sauna Club was to create an accessible wellbeing facility that encourages people to spend time outdoors, support their physical and mental wellbeing, and connect with others.
“Sauna bathing and cold-water immersion are increasingly recognised for their benefits to cardiovascular health, recovery, stress management, sleep quality and overall wellbeing.
