King’s Lynn Town have wasted no time in appointing a new manager following last night’s dismissal of Ian Culverhouse.
Former Hereford manager Paul Caddis has stepped straight into the hot-seat.
Irvine-born Caddis, 37, led the Bulls to their highest-ever National League North finishing position of 10th last season but the Scot was sacked on February 11 with Hereford sitting second-bottom of the table and on a run of six games without a win.
Caddis played as a right-back/midfielder during a 14-year professional career, which saw him earn one Scottish cap during spells with Celtic, Dundee United, Swindon Town, Birmingham City, Bury, Blackburn Rovers, Bradford City and Swindon Town, amassing almost 400 games.
He switched to coaching in 2020 with private one-to-one sessions before moving to Fleetwood Town Academy, later taking the step into full-time coaching with the League Two club.
He was appointed Hereford boss in April 2023 but was dismissed six months after signing an extended contract.
However, he remains proud of his achievements at the club and said: “I delivered measurable competitive success, while transforming the club’s financial stability and structural foundation.
“I demonstrated resilience, strategic planning, recruitment expertise, financial discipline and the ability to build sustainable football operations under pressure.”
Linnets chief executive Bal Srai told the club’s website: “We know this has been a frustrating season for our supporters and we fully understand the strength of feeling around recent results.
Caddis built a new squad from scratch at Hereford and, on his CV, stated: “I contributed to record season ticket sales and rising average attendances, helped establish a sustainable financial and operational platform to support transition from part-time to hybrid/full-time structure and also operated under high-performance expectations, despite budget limitations.”
At the time of his departure, Hereford chairman Chris Ammonds said: “Our performances in his first two seasons at the helm went a long way to helping to stabilise the club following a very difficult period, and he also played a key role in rebuilding the link between the club and supporters.”
Lynn fans will be hoping he can recreate that initial success and also rebuild those links in West Norfolk, starting on Saturday for the visit of Marine to The Docherty Walks, 3pm.
