There were some impressive performances at the Hunstanton Promenade parkrun, with several runners going above and well beyond the statutory 5K.
The parkrun coincided with the first leg of the Round Norfolk Relay, with runners handing over their batons near the lighthouse, having run from Lynnsport in King’s Lynn.
A few of them transitioned straight into parkrun to cool down from their 16.3-mile exertions!
Rain threatened to spoil things but stayed clear, with 91 runners, joggers and walkers finishing the parkrun, with more than half of them visitors to the clifftop course.
Thomas Anchor and Richard Bertauche celebrated their 100th parkruns, while six people took part in their first. At the opposite extreme, Ramona Thevenet ran her 934th.
The first male and female finishers were Steven Baldwin, 19mins 26secs, and Claire Fisher, 14th overall in 23:32, with 12 volunteers ensuring things went smoothly.
The first local club runner to finish was Dersingham Runners’ Paul King, who was fourth, 20:53.
