“More than a bit breezy,” summed up running conditions at the weekend but Ryston Runners were battling the elements at Duxford and West Walton, with a couple enjoying somewhat more balmy conditions further afield.
At the Fen 10 it was some of the Ryston women who made their customary mark on results on the windswept Fenland course. Kirsty Butters F45, Lynne Howlett F70, and Pauline Sparrow F75-plus took the honours in their respective age groups, while Linda Marshall was second F60.
Flying the flag for the men, Jit Patel was third M70.

The Duxford Dash saw five members contesting the 5K and three more the 10K, several of them relatively new members enjoying some of their first competitive outings in club colours.
Andy Lucraft Townley finished third M40 in the 5K, and Sabrina Neal was second F40 in the 10K.
The stormy weather had hit Spain a week earlier, so Ruth and Chris Chadwick’s experience in the Valencia Half Marathon was rather calmer than that of their clubmates.
Ruth marked her passage into a new age category by shaving a whisker off the club age group best time to post a new one of 1hr 45mons 8secs, coming fifth in her age group overall and second F60 in the British contingent. Chris ran 1:59:05,
