Car parking changes for Downham – residents urged to have their say

Changes are being proposed for parking in Downham Market – and the town council is urging residents to have their say.

Downham Market Town Council wants to make parking spaces more readily available and better support businesses in the town.

However, before any changes are introduced, the council is holding a public consultation to ask residents and businesses for their views.

The proposals affect six council car parks: Paradise Road, Hollies 1 and 2, Priory Road, Town Hall and Jubilee Community Centre.

A town council spokesperson said: “The aim of the proposals is to improve the turnover of parking spaces, making it easier for people to park, visit local businesses and enjoy everything our town has to offer.

“We want to hear your views. Your views matter – have your say and help shape the future of parking in Downham Market!”

The initial consultation will run from November 1 to 23, with further details of the proposed changes expected to be released shortly.

The council said a formal statutory consultation would take place at a later stage, once the initial feedback had been considered.

Residents and businesses can email their comments to [email protected] or write to Downham Market Town Council, 6 Market Place, Downham Market, PE38 9DE.
