Marham Village Hall officially reopens after major refurbishment

Marham Village Hall has officially reopened following a major refurbishment and a new extension.

The project has taken almost a decade to come to fruition and was funded through grants, fundraising and council donations.

It now has better heating, lighting and meeting areas.

The improvements also include new accessible toilets, additional storage and a new room for activities, meetings and events, freeing up more space in the main hall.

The project received £51,634.82 from FCC Communities Foundation, alongside funding from the CIL Community Fund, National Lottery Community Fund, Marham Parish Council and local fundraising.

Councillor Valerie Inder, chair of Marham Parish Council, said: “This is a fantastic day for Marham. The village hall sits at the heart of our community, and seeing the transformation completed is incredibly rewarding.

“The new facilities have created a welcoming, modern space that can be enjoyed by residents of all ages, whether they’re attending a class, meeting friends, joining a club or celebrating a special occasion.”

Cheryl Raynor, grant manager at FCC Communities Foundation, said: “The transformation of Marham Village Hall is a wonderful example of what can be achieved when a community comes together behind a shared vision.”
