A mother and daughter catering team have set a date for the opening of their new café at a popular campsite in Burnham Deepdale.
The Nest, owned by Kate Gedge and her mother Debbie Davison, will open for February half-term week from 16 February.
It will serve their signature homemade sausage rolls and cakes, along with a lunch menu and a hearty English breakfast.
Known for running The Nest horsebox café outside the campsite for the last three seasons, the pair jumped at the chance of a permanent base there.
‘We’ve been selling coffee and our homemade bakes from a converted horse box outside Deepdale for the last three summers. We’ve fallen in love with the place and can’t wait to have a permanent café space in the village for local and visitors,’ said Kate.

“We’re not naming a specific opening day, but rather an opening week – this February half term.”
Half-term week starts on Monday, February 16.

The pair have also posted a moodboard on The Nest Facebook page, revealing the inspiration for the cafe’s new interior.
“Our moodboard has guided every decision- from colours and textures to the feeling we want the space to hold. Warm, natural, calm and welcoming, inspired by the countryside around us and the sense of home we want you to feel when you walk through the door,” said Kate.
The previous café on the site closed at the end of 2025 and Kate and Debbie are refurbishing with the help of family and friends.
‘We want it to be a family-run community space for local people, passing tradespeople who want breakfast, walkers, cyclists, campers and anybody who wants a welcoming atmosphere and good food,’ she added.
‘Our regulars love our coffee and homemade bakes, especially our signature sausage rolls,’ said Debbie. ‘We are going to expand the menu in the new café, including a lunchtime menu and a great English breakfast.’
The mother-daughter duo bakes all their own cakes and pastries and hope to continue this, adding product from local bakers if need be.
The Nest will be open every day but Tuesday from 8am to 4pm. Longer opening hours are planned for the summer season.
