A £500 donation from Classic Cottages will help fund wellbeing activities for patients at Tapping House hospice near King’s Lynn.
The money will support workshops for new outpatients using the hospice’s Tulip Centre, which provides activities and therapies for people living with potentially life-limiting illnesses.
Tapping House, in Hillington, supports adults across Norfolk and North Cambridgeshire, as well as their families, carers and friends.
Activities at the Tulip Centre include circuit exercise, seated yoga, fishing, cookery and woodwork, with the aim of helping patients manage symptoms, maintain independence and improve quality of life.
The hospice supports around 6,000 patients and family members each year, while the Tulip Centre outpatient team delivers around 700 health and wellbeing programmes and therapies annually.
Tapping House says it costs around £7 million a year to provide its services, with less than a quarter of that funding coming from government sources.
Leah Westcott Graham, Marketing and Content Manager at Tapping House, said: “These joyful workshops that Classic Cottages is helping to fund aim to promote independence and manage symptoms for patients with a potentially life limiting illness.
“We are so delighted and grateful to receive this generous and kind donation. Thank you so much to Classic Cottages for choosing to donate to Tapping House – we’re thrilled.”
Fiona Booth, from Classic Cottages’ Hunstanton office, said: “We really admire Tapping House’s approach to helping people live as well as possible. The Tulip Centre is about supporting people to stay active and independent, try new things and enjoy time with others.
“It does fantastic work for patients and their families and we’re very pleased to be able to support it.”
